Thoughts on living at Hope Center from residents, present and past...

"Coming to Hope Center in November, 2008 was a life-changing experience. Very positive. I was given a chance to meet and bond with a variety of other women. The support offered is unbelievable. Tuesday night house dinners and Bible study offer quality time to communicate and fellowship...the coordinators as well as the volunteer staff are friendly, knowledgeable and always available to talk, listen, and pray. I am so thankful for my experience here for helping me get on the path I have seen myself traveling."

"A time came when I had to leave my own apartment and move into a homeless shelter, of all places. I never knew anybody who had lived in a shelter, so my mind gave me all kinds of weird and untrue thoughts about Hope Center. I have been living here almost a year and have learned much about living in community. Many things have changed for me now and I will say for the better. The volunteers are all very generous with their time and their love for each of us who live here. I will soon be moving into my own place and am grateful for what Hope has meant for me."

"The Hope Center to me is a place I feel that the Lord put in front of me, knowing this is a much needed stop in my life. The name 'Hope Center' is exactly what it is. For me it has given me exactly that for my children and me. The Hope Center is built around love and faith, that is what someone needs to deal with their hardships and improve their lives. I feel I can do great things here and that I am supported and valued as an individual and that my kids are truly cared for in everyone's hearts. There's really nothing better than knowing and feeling cared for that's what you'll find here."

“Hope meant a lot to me. I like all the staff, they cared about me and my baby when I had no where else to go. They gave me confidence to step forward.”

"I came to the Hope Center alone, not knowing anyone. I was broke and broken in spirit, but I knew I needed just a little bit of love and understanding and I would go far. Well, as my story goes, I have received much more than that...love, understanding, warmth and friends, and most of all the walk with Jesus which has brought me more than words could ever describe.
....To someone like myself, this place is like Disneyland to a child - it feeds my mind and soul with good thoughts and the love of Jesus and there is the encouragement from all of the wonderful volunteers and staff members. The love that radiates from this building is so powerfully spiritual it sometimes is overwhelming. I will never forget and I will always be grateful for my new start in life here. Thank you Hope."

"My entire life has been changed because of Hope Center. I came to the Hope Center with not a lot of hope. But the support and prayers I received from the staff and volunteers of the Hope Center gave me the hope I needed. The Hope Center brought me even closer to God and His Son Jesus. Prayers were answered and I was able to find a job, get a home for my sons and myself. I thank God above for the Hope Center. Thank- You Hope Center, Forever grateful."

"I moved here with my mom when I was 11, and absolutely hated the place. For me, all it was, was a women’s shelter. What would people think of me when they heard that I live in a women’s shelter? I feared to think. But the longer I stayed, the more I realized that it was more than just a shelter. The Hope Center is a perfect name for it. There is such a sense of hope and life in it."
