The Hope Center facility was a church built in the 1940’s. As a residence, we have had to bring the building up to code which meant adding a sprinkler system many years ago. That system, as you can see from the photo below, was in need of major repairs. It has now been replaced at a cost of approximately $30,000...most of which we have had to borrow.
.....In the process of replacing the sprinkler system, the city has required a number of other changes that carry an additional financial burden. We are in the process of doing that at the moment. Fortunately, the city gave us a temporary permit to open.
.....As you can see, we have some major financial need at the moment, but there are also countless other ways you can get involved.
• Pray regularly for the residents, staff and volunteers.
• Volunteers to work four-hour shifts answering the phones and the doors.
• There is always a need for facility maintenance ...plumbers, carpenters, painters, general repair.
• You can help organize our garage sales, one of the fund raisers we regularly put on.
• We have everyday needs like any other household. You can donate food, especially canned goods and paper products.
Special Donation Need
We are facing some very large expenses in 2009. This photo shows you why our fire sprinkler system needed to be replaced. The cost of this replacement was nearly $30,000.
