Nancy Robeck - Chairwoman and Co-Director
"In the Spring of 2000, board member Sheila Kent asked me if I would be interested in answering phones and doors at the Hope Center once a week. I said, 'yes.' From the beginning, it was a great experience with the director and the residents. Gradually I accepted more responsibility by becoming the bookkeeper, preparing taxes and becoming a board member. I really love getting to know the women who come here, sharing the gospel with them, ministering to them, and sharing their lives. Volunteering at the Hope Center is an enormous blessing."

"The Hope Center is close to its 20th birthday. My family moved here the year the building was purchased and we moved into what was once the parsonage to be part of the renovation from church to shelter. Through the years I have worn many hats...from regular volunteer doing 4-hour shifts answering phones and doors, to board member, to co-director. We have seen God touch many lives as He cares for the destitute and needy. It is a privilege to be part of what He is doing."

"When my six children were raised I wanted to do something else worthwhile. So these past sixteen years Hope Center ministry has been very rewarding...to be able to see women find real purpose in life and to know that God has good plans for them."

"I enjoy serving on the Hope Center board because of the opportunities to touch the lives of these women in transition, showing the love of Christ and being part of the changes God is bringing about in their lives. As a board member I get to see glimpses of what God is doing, where He is leading Hope Center and be part of making a difference. "

"I was adopted into the Kingdom of God in the fall of 1994 after I started attending Plainview Mennonite Church. My wife of 12 years, Doris, and I still belong to Plainview Mennonite to this day. I am nearing completion of a 5-year apprenticeship in a construction trade. I became involved with the Hope Center at the invitation of Carol Wall, a former director. I have been a board member for 8 years."
